California and New York District Attorneys confront the release of memos criticizing forensic analysis and a Minnesota County investigates its medical examiner.  Here’s a roundup of this week’s forensics news:

Candidates for San Francisco District Attorney

are calling for the release of a memo

in the District Attorney’s Office criticizing the misleading nature of a DNA analyst’s report.

A state law enforcement official located

a 2008 letter

addressed to several Nassau County officials that described problems at the Nassau County Crime Laboratory two years before officials acknowledged learning of the problems.

A Minnesota County is investigating alleged false testimony from a private contractor who has served as medical examiner.

The El Paso Police Crime Laboratory remains on probation but

has been given clearance to conduct drug tests
