John Nolley was exonerated yesterday in Tarrant County, Texas. At yesterday’s court hearing attended by Nolley, his family and his legal team, and representatives from the District Attorney’s Office and Bedford Police Department, Judge Louis Sturns granted Criminal District Attorney Sharen Wilson’s motion to dismiss Nolley’s 1997 murder charges based on actual innocence. After 21 years of seeking justice, John Nolley is finally free.

Here are some photos of Nolley’s first moments of freedom in 21 years. All photos by Ron Jenkins.
