Justice for the Englewood Four

New DNA test results prove that nine Chicago-area men were convicted in the 1990s of crimes they didn’t commit. After months of ignoring our calls for justice, Chicago prosecutors finally agreed on November 3, 2011, to clear the five men wrongfully convicted of a rape and murder in 1991 in Dixmoor.

Four more men, however, are still fighting for justice. Innocence Project client Michael Saunders along with Terrill Swift, Harold Richardson and Vincent Thames, were convicted as teenagers of a 1994 murder. On November 16, 2011, a Chicago judge overturned the convictions of these four men but the responsibility now falls to the State’s Attorney to dismiss charges in the case.
