A San Francisco man convicted of three murders is
requesting a new trial
on the grounds that evidence from his case may have been tampered with after the state’s crime lab was shut down based on evidence of faulty testing.
The newly created Florida Innocence Commission
met for the first time today
to review eyewitness misidentification, prosecutorial misconduct, false confessions and forensic oversight. The panel will present a report on its recommendations in January 2012.
