Fernando Bermudez to Speak at Baruch College

05.11.11

On Thursday, May 12, at Baruch College in New York City, Exoneree Fernando Bermudez will speak and answer questions about his 18 years of wrongful imprisonment. Bermudez was released from prison and exonerated in November 2009 after serving years behind bars for a crime that he didn’t commit. Bermudez, who is now a father of three and pursuing a degree in behavioral science, was wrongfully convicted in the 1991 shooting death of Raymond Blount outside of a Greenwich Village club. His conviction was based almost entirely on compromised eyewitness evidence. The talk will begin at 6 p.m. at 55 Lexington Avenue in Room 2-125 and is open to the public.
