The week before last, to celebrate the 18th year wedding anniversary of recently exonerated Darryl Howard and his wife Nannie, the Innocence Project released a video of the Howards speaking about their relationship. The video was extremely popular on social media and garnered many well-wishes for the newly reunited couple. The Howards were extremely appreciative. To thank people for all of the kind thoughts and words of encouragement they shared, they asked the Innocence Project to share the following message with its online community:

We have a lot we would like to say, but our words will be few and to the point. As Darryl and I move forward together on this amazing journey, we will rely on all the kind and encouraging words of faith, wisdom, support, respect, blessings and love to not only nurture and grow our marriage; but further strengthen our love for and of each other. It is a great and humbling feeling to know our journey has inspired and provided hope and joy in so many. The best is yet to come.”

For a more in-depth look at Darryl Howard’s return home after more than 24 years, stay tuned for a feature article that will be appearing in the winter issue of the Innocence Project in Print, slated for release this coming December.
