2019 Innocence Network Conference Concludes with Rally for Justice Featuring Activist Shaun King

Exonerees, Innocence Network Members and Community Members Gather to Highlight the Challenges of “Presumption of Innocence” within the Criminal Justice System

On Saturday, April 13th, more than 800 hundred people including exonerated men and women, their families, Innocence Network organizations and advocates will come together from across the globe for the Rally for Justice at Centennial Olympic Park in Atlanta, Georgia. The rally will conclude the annual two-day Innocence Network Conference and will feature the voices of exonerees representing different regions of the country and the world, highlighting the critical need for criminal justice reform everywhere. The rally will be keynoted by prominent criminal justice activist Shaun King and feature inspirational words from exonerated men and women.

WHO: Activist and journalist, Shaun King; Innocence Project Board Member and CEO of Lava Records, Jason Flom; Derrick Hamilton, exonerated in New York in 2015; Fernando Bermudez, exonerated in New York in 2009; Cheng Hsing-Tse, exonerated in Taiwan in 2017; Calvin Johnson, exonerated in Georgia in 1999, and former Innocence Project board member; Gloria Killian, exonerated in California in 2002; and Tyra Patterson , freed in Ohio in 2017. Musical performance by Hero the Band, Lava Records.
