NPR’s Leonard Lopate Show today welcomed as guests two men who served a combined 28 years in prison for crimes they didn’t commit. Barry Gibbs was released from a New York prison in 2005 after proving his innocence and
was exonerated and released from a New Jersey prison in 1995 based on DNA tests proving his innocence.
Innocence Project Staff Attorney Vanessa Potkin joined Gibbs and Shephard as they discussed their cases and the difficulties of adjusting to life after exoneration.
