TFSC Expected to Issue Report on Willingham Arson Case

04.14.11

The Texas Forensic Science Commission is meeting today and tomorrow in Austin and is expected to issue a report on the forensic science that was used in the prosecution of Cameron Todd Willingham who was executed for the arson murder of his three daughters even though a prominent arson scientist told Gov. Rick Perry that the testimony of the fire investigator was based on bad arson science.

Since his execution, numerous other prominent arson scientists have concluded that the fire investigation in the case was based on flawed arson science and have expressed concerns that other people have been wrongfully convicted by similarly faulty evidence.
