Shannon Weaton joined the Innocence Project as recruitment manager in May 2025. With over a decade of recruiting experience, they bring expertise in a people-centered approach to talent acquisition across the nonprofit sector. Before joining the IP, Shannon hired top talent for organizations dedicated to criminal justice reform, access to education, environmental justice, and LGBTQ+ equality.

In their role at the IP, Shannon partners with the director of talent to develop and execute strategies for attracting mission-driven talent. They lead the full recruitment life cycle, focusing on building inclusive and equitable hiring processes and providing a best-in-class candidate experience. Shannon is proud to hire and support staff who are dedicated to freeing and exonerating the wrongfully convicted and advancing justice within the criminal legal system.
