Dr. Donia Slack is the Special Advisor on Forensic Science Policy at the Innocence Project, where she works to advance evidence-based reforms that strengthen the reliability, transparency, and accountability of forensic science within the criminal legal system. She brings more than 20 years of experience in forensic science, genomics, and criminal justice policy, including nearly a decade at RTI International, where she supported forensic science research, technology evaluation, and policy initiatives. At the Innocence Project, she collaborates with policymakers, researchers, forensic practitioners, and advocates to advance scientifically sound reforms that reduce the risk of wrongful convictions and improve the fairness and accuracy of the criminal legal system. Dr. Slack holds a Ph.D. in Criminal Justice from Nova Southeastern University and a Master of Science in Cellular Biology from The Catholic University of America.
