Alyxaundria Sanford joined the Innocence Project in 2024 as the digital engagement specialist.

Alyxaundria has a distinguished career in local and national news at organizations like ABC, NBC, CBS, New York Daily News, and City & State Magazine. She most recently held the role of audience engagement producer at The Intercept. Alyxaundria brings an extensive background in digital engagement strategies, storytelling, and advocacy. A graduate of the E.W. Scripps School of Journalism at Ohio University and the Engagement Journalism program at the Craig Newmark Graduate School of Journalism, she also holds a master’s degree from John Jay College of Criminal Justice.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Alyxaundria has been a New York City resident since 2009. Beyond her professional life, you can catch her at the latest Broadway show, restaurant hopping on the weekends, or exploring the newest exhibit at Brooklyn Museum.
