Comedian Pauly Shore to Host Benefit for the Innocence Project and Project for the Innocent at Loyola Law School

Comedian Pauly Shore is hosting an all-star line-up of comedians who will perform a benefit for The Innocence Project and the Project for the Innocent at Loyola Law School at the Comedy Store on August 27, 2017 at 8:30 PM.  Proceeds from the event will support the innocence organizations’ work to overturn wrongful convictions and enact policy reforms to prevent these miscarriages of justice.  Performers include Shore, Kevin Nealon, Neal Brennan, Nikki Glaser and others.

“I’ve been a fan of the Innocence Project for several years,” said Shore.  “I can’t imagine being wrongly convicted and serving time for something you didn’t do, and I’m very glad to lend my talents and support to these organizations to hopefully put an end to these horrible nightmares.”

Shore contacted the Innocence Project and proposed the benefit, which the Innocence Project took him up on.  Shore also recruited all of the performers who have graciously agreed to donate their talents.  The full line-up will be:  Pauly Shore, Steve Ranizzisi, Kevin Nealon, Iliza Shlesinger, Kyle Dunnigan, Neal Brennan, Bryan Callen, Steve Simeone and Nikki Glaser.  Tickets are $25 and are available here.  Proceeds from the door will be shared by the Innocence Project and the Project for the Innocent at Loyola Law School.

Founded in 1992 by Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld, the Innocence Project exonerates the wrongly convicted through DNA testing and reforms the criminal justice system to prevent future injustice.  To date, 351 people have been exonerated by DNA evidence in the U.S.  The Innocence Project has helped in 183 of these cases.  The Project for the Innocent is a clinical program of Loyola Law School which is dedicated to exoneration of the wrongfully convicted.  Students are at the heart of the clinic and help to do the necessary legal work to successfully advocate for the wrongly convicted in court.
