Innocence Project Co-Directors to be honored at California event

Innocence Project Co-Directors Barry Scheck and Peter Neufeld will be honored on Sunday (9/16/07) at the American Civil Liberties Union of South California’s 44th annual Garden Party. Each year, the organization celebrates advocates of civil liberties and justice reform at this event, which is held at a Los Angeles home.

The California legislature this month passed three bills which would bring about major criminal justice reforms in the state; the bills are currently awaiting the signature of Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger, who vetoed similar legislation last year.
