In Appreciation of Seamus Heaney

08.30.13

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Nobel Prize-winning poet Seamus Heaney, who passed away earlier today. This spring Mr. Heaney honored the Innocence Project by videotaping a reading of “The Cure at Troy,” from his translation of the Greek play “Philoctetes.” The piece, he said, was “in the spirit of the Innocence Project, and in favor, naturally, of justice.” His tremendous talent, generosity of spirit and commitment to justice will be greatly missed.
