We have a lot to be thankful for here at the Innocence Project this year. Several of our clients – from Chicago to Texas to Louisiana – are home to spend the holidays with their families. In all, 12 people have been exonerated by DNA tests so far this year, and several more are awaiting official word that they’ve been cleared. Above, Michael Morton hugs his mother after being cleared in October.
We’re also deeply thankful to our wonderful supporters around the world for making our work possible. It is because of your support that we’re able to free innocence people from prison and work to reform the criminal justice system to prevent wrongful convictions in the future.
Thank you, and have a very happy Thanksgiving.
