New Zealand Justice Minister Judith Collins has ordered a second review of the compensation claim of David Bain after the first independent review delivered “

a recommendation she [Mrs Collins] doesn’t agree with, or at least has concerns about.

” Bain is seeking up to $2 million in compensation after serving more than 13 years of a life sentence for the murder of his family before being exonerated.

 

The Irish Court of Criminal Appeal has

granted an application

by Joe O’Reilly for legal aid to pursue his claim of a miscarriage of justice in his conviction of murdering his wife, Rachel.
