“Even on your lowest day, keep fighting”

John Kamara spent 16 years in solitary confinement in a British prison for a crime he didn’t commit, writing letters every day and every night asking for help. He estimates that he wrote 375,000 letters during those 16 years before he was finally able to prove his innocence and get released.

A new video from the Guardian’s Justice on Trial series includes interviews with Kamara and two other British exonerees on the struggle to prove their innocence and the difficulties of adjusting to life outside of prison after their release.
