Actor, Author, Producer, and Director

Robert Elmer Balaban is an American actor, director, producer, writer, and children’s book author. Known for his diverse contributions to film and television, Balaban produced for the Academy Award-nominated film Gosford Park and  directed the the Off-Broadway play, The Exonerated. In 2009,  he was honored at the Innocence Project’s third annual gala.
