On Wednesday, May 23, 2018, a court in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania vacated the 1991 rape conviction of John Kunco after he wrongly served 28 years in prison. Kunco’s conviction was vacated based on new DNA evidence proving his innocence and evidence that Kunco had a corroborated alibi showing his whereabouts at the exact time of the crime.
