Death Row Exoneree’s Nonprofit Organization Robbed

Resurrection After Exoneration, an Innocence Network project founded in 2007 by death row exoneree John Thompson, was burglarized early Sunday morning.

Intruders broke into the organization’s New Orleans office and made off with many valuables, including job-training supplies, computers and other electronics. Police are currently investigating the incident.

The organization, which provides services for individuals upon release from prison to facilitate a successful transition back into society, faces a huge economic setback as a result of this incident.

A fundraising page has been set up and donations can be made to help the nonprofit organization recover from this debilitating loss. You can make your tax-deductable donation here.

What a hateful thing to happen to a giving helpful organization. My mother and I just saw the story about Mr Thompson and wanted to find out more. I seem to think his circumstances happen more than people are aware of. We hope you are reorganizing.
