Exoneration Innovator Post-conviction Litigation
Ava Pacchiana joined the Innocence Project as a Weil Legal Innovator in the summer of 2023 to further her involvement in the movement to create a more just and equitable criminal legal system.
While completing her undergraduate degree at Vanderbilt University, Ava co-led a local clemency campaign for a Nashville native, organized a community-based Court Watch program, and planned weekly dinners to bring together previously incarcerated individuals and Vanderbilt students. Ava will be matriculating to Harvard Law School in the fall of 2024 where she plans to pursue a career in capital cases and post-conviction litigation.
