Cecily Burge joined the Innocence Project’s post-conviction litigation team in 2021.
Prior to working at the Innocence Project, Cecily was a fellow at the Frederick Douglass Project for Justice, where she helped launch the organization’s cornerstone Prison Visitation Program. Cecily graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in government. In college, she helped individuals returning from incarceration find employment, produced an award-winning documentary about an innocent man behind bars, and was the teaching assistant for a class known as “Making an Exoneree,” where she oversaw the reinvestigation of wrongful conviction cases and advocated for exoneration.
