Eric Ferrero

Director of Communications

Eric Ferrero is the Innocence Project's Director of Communications.

Mr. Ferrero's expertise is in developing and implementing strategic communications plans and public education campaigns in the fields of legal advocacy and civil rights. Prior to joining the Innocence Project, he was Director of Communications at Lambda Legal. He previously worked as Public Education Director at the American Civil Liberties Union's Lesbian & Gay Rights Project, where he collaborated with ACLU affiliates in all 50 states and developed campaigns for the organization's National Prison Project and Capital Punishment Project. Prior to that, he worked in communications and community outreach on issues including homelessness, poverty, and services for at-risk youth.

Mr. Ferrero is the author of Too High a Price: The Case Against Restricting Gay Parenting (Introduction by Rosie O'Donnell), first edition, and his writing has appeared in the Washington Post, the Los Angeles Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and numerous other media outlets. An alumnus of California State University, Sacramento, Mr. Ferrero worked briefly in journalism before becoming active in government, politics, and advocacy, first in California and then at the national level.
